hi guys does anyone no how to remove the heatsink on a dm800hd it seems solid i would like to change it for a better one
It will probably be stuck on with heat conductive glue or heat conductive sticky pad.
Try to twist it off but be gentle
tried to heat it up with a hairdryer woudnt budge i was worried i may damage the chip so wont bother fitted a new fan so all should be ok
I would leave the heatsink as it is, if it's well stuck down, it's probably on with a thermal glue pad, over time with the heat the pad will break down, and you could then change it, but i would advise just putting a better fan on, rather than damaging the processor at the moment.
