I have been reading a good bit on the emu grabbing and writing keys from an emm key. I have seen several setups but all examples are using a real cam. I have no actual card, just emm keys for transponders. My question is do the camid's matter? What about the dir the keys are placed into? Does oscam write the new acquired ecm key to softcam.key? What is best format for adding emm to softcam.key? For now I do have ecm keys working. Thanks
Oscam-emu Autoroll via emm ?

My question is do the camid's matter?
camid`s don`t matter.
You need to check a few things in the oscam configs to make sure autoroll will update the keys.
AU / Auto Update needs to be enabled:
##oscam.conf##
[dvbapi]
au = 1
##oscam.user##
[account]
au = 1
Add these to the [reader] in oscam.server:
emmcache = 2,2,2,0
saveemm-u = 1
When you receive an emm, saveemm-u value will save a file in the same location as the rest of your configs (/usr/keys on openatv)
What about the dir the keys are placed into
Default location for configs on openatv image is /usr/keys.
If you are using a different image place the SoftCam.Key file in the same location as the rest of the oscam configs.
Does oscam write the new acquired ecm key to softcam.key
If you have the emm key and autoroll is configured it will write the required new keys automatically.
You need to specify which channel will autoroll in the SoftCam>key file.. If you want it to autoroll on every channel you must add a new line for every channel.
Once you do all this, tune to the assigned autoroll channel, go to LIVE LOG in the web interface and expect to see an EMM update, it can take several minutes.What is best format for adding emm to softcam.key
It will be similar format to the ecm key.
But i`m not sure what the 1f86 should be.
What package is this and i can search the net for it. ? -

Look below and please - lets start with a tp that has keys spooling constantly, that I have an emm for.

But i`m not sure what the 1f86 should be.
What package is this and i can search the net for it. ?Lets forget the 1f86 and start with a tp on sat 135w AMC10.
The tp is 4040v Epix east hd shows this on the info screen.
Video pid- 0x006e (110d)
Audio pid 0x0064 (100d)
Sid 0x012d (301d)
so would the emm key look like this for pvu?
P 012d 00 (emm key);
p 012d 01 (emm key);
If this is correct please advise how to write lines for each channel< Is it the same emm for every channel but with just changing the sid?
Thanks for all your help again. I will be helping the forum again soon...

Well I have tried adding an emm key to softcam file but the webif shows on live log key not found. Here are some screen shots. Btw the oscam configs for this setup are /etc/tuxbox/config. Btw the oscam.server file is empty. I dont see emmcache to add this
Add these to the [reader] in oscam.server:
emmcache = 2,2,2,0
saveemm-u = 1
Do I insert these lines in oscam server? Thanks

Sir: possible files are ready (.user and .config and .user.)
And thanks in advance.

Do I insert these lines in oscam server
Do this in the web interface.
Click Readers tab then emulator.

You still need to edit the reader in oscam web interface just like above.
-
MasterG I changed the lines in reader like shown above, now the oscam server file is like this
I added an emm for this channel, but the emu is still looking for a key not trying to add one by emm looking at the webif keeps saying key not found. Btw I added
the emm to this format P <sid> <UA> 01 <emm key>
the sid for the channel Im working with is 0130, the emu keeps saying p0130 01 key not found.
What else can I show about the settings?
thanks

Does this look right? The group?

Does this look right? The group?
You don`t need all those groups in the [account]
The [reader] is using group 1. So the [account] should only have group = 1
Try the configs in post #7. You will still need to edit the reader as shown in post #6
Try the attached plugin. Not sure if it will help or not. Maybe its only maintained for europe.
I configured the latest openatv 6.1 for powervu here -> DM900 : OpenATV 6.1 Kodi 17.3 & Powervu AutoRoll

I have loaded the above image and still getting the same message from oscam webif
Does the softcam file need more than the Emm key for the emu to try and write the key.
I have tried these formats for the emm key , are these formats correct?
P 0130 0053xxxx 0E84xxxxxxxxxx
Thanks

Changed key format to include group id, posted dummy keys and emm with same group id but still not seeing the SEND! cmd in the webif log. However I did see emm key found and shows the UA or I would post the screen shot of that here. After I changed key formats I reset oscam and all I see now is the same as screenshot above.
-
Changing the groupid and waiting a little longer the emu finally grabbed the spooled key and added the new key to key file. What confused me is I was looking for the
SEND! from the emu waiting to grab the key. Instead it just kept saying key not found until it finally spooled.

If I assign the same groupid to the same channels on a single tp will the emu write the key out for every channel in the same group? Or do I have to write the emm out for each channel?
-
Nevermind the emu writes keys for all ch for the assigned group. Thanks for your help MasterG its really appreciated.
-
Lemme can you help me with setting up powervu in oscam?.. I'm beating my head in the ground trying to figure this out.

Hi
Bit late in this matter; what is GROUP ID, and how it is aaign ?
thx.
-
Hi... I just assign each key the same 4 digit number before the Channel SID
example:
P 14440191 00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ;TV Land East HD
P 14440191 01 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ;TV Land East HD
P 1444 xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ; EMM Key
that's how i understand it has to be written in softcam key.
the 144 is just a random number i picked to add to all channels on the transponder. The 0191 is the channel ID
I'm still learning this stuff but i got a good handle on it.
-
so, EMM key is mandatory,
I do not have EMM keys.
can it work with ECM keys only ?
-
what i do not understand, how come other channels are ok with ecm keys only ?
