  • Lets not worry about the actual position of your dish just yet. Let`s get it moving first. In the tuner configuration make sure the tuner connected to your motor is set to All satellites 1 and your longitude/latitude for your position are set correctly.

  • I would not be worrying about longitude and latitude in heusters case, if you read what the member is after that aint really required, 13/19 and 28.2 can be stored as individual satellites quite easily especially if 19 east is banging in signal wise.

@heuster.. you do have to setup your tuner correctly as boddily says so DONT use usals...you need to go into your tuner settings for motorised and use diseqc 1.2, save 19 east and then save 13 and so forth.

thanks mate. Going to try and do that. Must say I have always used usals before and never had problems with it but for some reason I just can't get this to work.

  • The point is he needs to get his receiver to even move the dish, never mind finding satellites, which from what I am reading he hasn`t been able to do. I asked the question, can you move the dish using the 2 buttons on the motor? I got no reply. If you can`t then something is wrong at the receiver end.

sorry Bo must have missed that. The dish will move but when using the signal finder it will only move east and then seems to stick there. I have moved it west using the positioner setup. So it seems that the motor is ok but the sat positions don't appear to be there. I have disabled limits . Wonder if a reset may do the trick. It does move using the buttons

  • this has got me scratching my head. The motor seems to want to go in the wrong direction. Got 19e set up with good signal. Tried to move to 13e but went opposite way. Is it possible for motor to be faulty??. I will try my old motor and see what happens.Double checked lat/long settings.

Having got a good signal on 19e how would I set it up using diseqc instead of usals. Never done it that way before.

Standing behind the dish if you go from 19e to 0.8 w the dish should move to the right.

Motor's not upside down is it ?? Pics would help.

fairly certain it's the right way. It's a Technomate 2600 from sponsor and fits so that shaft is down. My previous one was 2100 and is fitted same way. I will try that one tomorrow and see what result I get. There is a reset hole on motor but am reluctant to try it

  • I use open atv aswell, with older images you stored sats in tuner setup but with open atv once you have stored positioner setup/ diseqc 1.2 (not usals) go to positioner setup plugin#

    Menu/setup/service searching/Positioner setup

In there you can move and store your 3 sats exactly as you want, if 13 east is a little weak then adjust lnb scew.

To use usals your pole has to be completely straight and set with a spirit level, if its out it wont work properly, in any case usals is really only used for wide sweeps from the likes of 42e to 30w which you dont need/want or will be capable of with your dish size anyway.

  • thanks. I think my problem has been caused by the pole having a slight flex in it. Got another stronger one and will try again. Thanks for everyones input

  • managed to get tgis working. Didn't notice but the pole I was using had a very slight curve. Bought a new one and a sat meter from screwfix and set up to 0.8 w. Getting 84% on Al Jazeera. A learning curve and a thanks to everyone who helped and advised.
