Hi again, I have deleted the "YouTube" search history from this file but seems to make no difference as the history remains, I suspect the data is held in anohter file and then copied to the settings file upon boot. Anymore ideas for getting rid of the history will be greatly appreciated............Spevs

First you have to stop Enigma, then edit the given file and start Enigma again.
