hello!

How can I safely remove my USB hard drive enigma2?

this is because every time i disconnect it i have to restore the file system on windows.. thx!

are you sure its corrupting, and not just be initialised into linux. (Which windows cannot read)

If you connect your box via ftp or file explorer, you can access your hard drive on your sat box that way.

yes i know via ftp but movie transfer is slow... my hdd file system is ntfs. I wanted to know if there is a telnet command for safe removal.

You probably just need to put your box into deep standby first or power down then to make sure nothing is running on harddrive. i.e timeshift, reading/writing etc.

I know openatv and openvix has an mount manager screen also where you can unmount your hdd.

I don't use HDD only usb, so cant really help more.

Standby is one thing, deep standby is another. Please put box in deep standby then remove the drive.

thanks for the reply but OpenPLi only allows me to set “Sleep hard drive after… 5 minutes - 10 minutes….”

Please look the standby/restart menu. Select "deep standby". When box is off, then you can remove the HDD.

standby = switch screen off only

deep standby = switch everything off and await timers/power toggle

so i have to turn off the decoder and unmount the hdd. ok i will try and let you know if the file system doesn't get corrupted. thx again!

Putting in deep standby is turning it off. Please do not just cut the power.

You can't unmount anything when receiver has been switched off. Nothing will on screen, you can't select any menu. Just remove the HDD (when receiver is off, I. E in deep standby. Not just standby)
