  • I'm currently running a Vu Duo2 receiver and was wondering if it would be possible to use a Vu zero 4k in the same room (next to each other) using 2 different Vu remotes so they don't clash with each other. Is this possible? Thanks

Changed the title of the thread from “2 vu machines in 1 room question” to “2 vuplus receivers in 1 room with different remote controls”.
  • Just say the image and you go to remote control setting to change the one for the zero, I have a duo2 and a duo4kse in same room 2 remotes set to not clash.

Hi mate, I have a Vu duo 2 with the newer style handset and a vu duo 4k se with the new type handset as well. I changed the code to 00003 (00002 is the factory set frequency) and it wont work. I looked on the feeds and found remote control channel. Is that what I need?

I do have plugin remotecontrolcode but it is saying to use 2-7 together by my remote setup is standby and ok button to put the code in. Thanks

  • That new style remote is awesome, with the duo2 go to remote section and it should give you the option to change to New vu+ Type 6 rcu, I have the old remote and it says legacy vu + universal RCU. I use code 2 on the legacy and 3 on the duo4kse with multiboot.

And with the VIX image I can change the new remote to work the duo2 if I wish.

I am not sure what options the plugin will give you.

I use a few images and can have a few codes but when I forget I have to use WEBIF to change it. What I do is press OK and the power button until red says solid, then enter 00003 and press OK. It can be 1, 2, 3 BUT 0000 in front.

I dont know if that makes any sense, you may follow it but if stuck try the openpli forum. I know you like openpli but Vix and openatv have come on in leaps and bounds at the moment I am using OPBH 5.4 and its damm good, nice skins, MX HQ10 and I can change remote code on it.

  • Just to add a bit, you can ignore all the above .I checked the box and I have Openpli8xstar version on slot 2. I downloaded the remote control code plugin and it works but it led me a merry dance. I got it to change the code to 3 but initially it would change to 3 on the remote and stay at 2 on the box. After quite a few attempts I got it to work but it happened so fast I am not sure what I did. I have 2 remotes so the old remote is on 2 and I want the new one to be 3. I changed the code on the box to 3 and pressed ok and that takes you into the change sequence, I had to keep and eye on the remote and the time elapsing and when I enterted the 3 after the blinks I pressed ok and the green button but I DID it on old remote as well. :smiling face with halo: It worked at last.

So the sequence is the key. I had to make sure the duo2 was off. The trick is getting the image to save the 3 code.

good luck and say you sorted it.

PS it can be tricky as the remote can change to 3 but the box can stay on 2 but I have more than one remote so be careful.

  • I managed to sort it out.

    Go to remotecontrolplugin

Remote control system code (change to 3) be aware if you don't see a number at the end of this option your TV is not set up right. (I pressed and guessed)

    Press green !!!!!!! (very important)

    Press stb and ok

Wait for the red led light to light up

    00003 then ok

    Led will flash twice

    Press restore

Then reboot gui with Ok button

Duo 2 is 00002 by default same as the Duo4kse

So I left the Duo at 00002 and programmed the Duo4kse to 00003

It was not working for me because I did not see the numbers at the end of remote control system code in the plugin!!!

Thank you to Bmitie and Claihew

  • I do like Openpli images, I will take a look at those images and see if I get on with them. Thank you.
