Vu+ Solo 2 - No space left on device after update

    I updated VIX on my Vu+ Solo 2 on Sunday night and it has since locked on the boot screen and I've been unable to reflash with a USB.
    Looked at memory and it seemed okay:

    But then got an odd response when I tried opkg update telling me there's no space on the disk.

    Is there a telnet command to restore from backup? I've already consulted the Telnet thread but couldn't see anything,
    Is there a recovery image?
    What are my chances of unbricking the box?
    Any help appreciated.
    I think the box is on its last legs.


    Edit: Probably should have mentioned, I can get in with Putty and Filezilla. Just no access via the image UI and menus - which is why I am so screwed with it.

    The output you posted was about RAM. The problem is flash memory. I.e storage.


    df -Th will show you what storage you have.


    You can use the willowbuild command to flash the image. You can then restore a different settings backup and avoid his customisation if you don't want them.


    Otherwise, you can stop Enigma2 using "init 4". Then delete the following possible overgrown files: picons, EPG, IPTV picons, IPTV EPG . That should get your box running.


    There is a command to flash on another forum. The link is on my signature on that forum. I will repost it here tomorrow evening unless someone does it before me.

    Many thanks for your support and suggestions. I persisted with ftechno's suggestion with an older version of VIx and dropped all plugins and settings. Obviously, not optimal solution but probably for the best as the box has been crashing more recently.

    abu baniaz I'll look at decluttering some more of the junk this evening.

    Yes, that's all I had access to. There were a couple of old logs (mid December) but nothing for the period in which the box was unstable. Picons and EPG are stored on USB - but IPTV picons, IPTV EPG are not.
    I guess sorting where they are stored would be the natural first step.

    If its not possible to remove anything from within the image menu, then it can be done with an FTP tool.

    Remove unused skins or plugins from these directories then reboot the DM900:

    Skins - /usr/share/enigma2

    Plugins - /usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions/

    reinstall image, as these could be more due to the fact that the file is already there, I don't think that on such receivers, that are recent and have huge flash, you have no more space,

    Hello everyone, thank you for your response. My dm900 is great, it's Ferrari. I succeeded. I updated to 7.4 and it fixed the problem. I was able to delete what I wanted. Thank you all. Have a nice day.
