This was done by Lraizer as a proof of concept project. It is script based instead of reader based. It does not read the lamedb file at the moment. He did say that it could be incorporated into the script based light edition of his satellite version. This could lead to lamdb being appended.

Please do not confuse this with Auto Bouquets Maker by the OE Alliance or the Satellite version by Lraizer.

Edit region code on file on PC using linux compatible editor such as Notepad++. Saves you having to do it every time. Windows Notepad and Wordpad are not linux compatible.
dvbsnoop is required for this script to run.
Perform a normal scan first as you need to be on an active channel first. Backup your bouquets first. Saves having to rescan if things go wrong. If using a multi-tuner receiver, bear in mind you will lose all other services because lamedb is replaced.

Transfer to normal plugin location (/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/) and chmod 755. Script will need to be edited to use your netID on line 9.

If someone was in Southampton, (# 41071 (0xa06f) "Southampton")
    they would put
    net id="a0 6f"

For the regions not listed, (all pure ones) you will have to convert from decimal to hex.

Reboot and you should have a plugin which will transfer your new bouquets and also restart your receiver

    Update: 02/05/2014
Lraizer used the following settings for the initial scan which did not require a cables.xml file (use your own net ID)

This is Lraizer's 2014_06_01_1500 version. Classified as experimental, so backup your lists first.

Pure regions not listed, so use the "first available" option if you are in a pure area.

DVBsnoop required. Scan whilst on an active channel. Readme file contained.

Here is an ipk. It is Lriazer's work, any credit goes to him.

    We have done the following:
    Added a check for dvbsnoop
    Modified the bouquet names
    Removed the channel number

You will still need to install dvbsnoop and run plugin while on an active channel.

  • Hi
Here's a little update to the cable AB script as I noticed:

    • the BT Sports Extra services were a) not all in the Sport Extra Bouquet and b) ordered poorly with channels 0 and 1 after 2 through 6.
    • the ETVS10 channel was not included in the Sport Extra Bouquet.
    • a rogue 'Channel Moved' service was resident in the Sport Extra Bouquet.
    • a rogue 'other' radio Bouquet has been removed (I don't think it's needed as all radio services are correctly identified as radio services)

Anyways, this version re-orders the BT Extra services 0 - 6 in the Sport Extra Bouquet, along with ETVS10 and the other ETV services.

I did look at a nice way to do this with sed, but I ended up using 2 lines of awk commands as sed just didn't want to play ball..
It hasn't made any difference to the execution time.

The 'Channel Moved' channel is no longer stored in the Sport Extra Bouquet.

Any issues, edit it lol :)

    Regards
    CG

    PS.
Before you ask, the file should be uploaded (via FTP) to the following folder:

    Code
    \usr\lib\enigma2\python\Plugins\Extensions\AutoBouquets_C2\

Added a valid cable service check. Will still fail if on out of region channel.
Resized GUI size to match AB 28.2
    Renamed plugin folder to AutoBouquets_Cable_E2

    Thanks to Rossi
    Added hint text
    Added version date to title
Changed log entries. No longer shows "MySHCom"

Please uninstall previous version before installing this one.

Please do not confuse with AutoBouquetsMaker
You must run this while on an active cable channel.

    Updated instructions...

19/09/2016 Added a valid cable service check. Will still fail if on out of region channel. Resized GUI size to match AB 28.2 Renamed plugin folder to AutoBouquets_Cable_E2 Thanks to Rossi Added hint text Added version date to title Changed log entries. No longer shows "MySHCom"

Please do not confuse this plugin with
AutoBouquetsMaker by the OE Alliance or
AutoBouquets E2 28.2 also by LraiZer.

    To install:

Transfer the ipk to the /tmp directory

You can then install by remote.

Blue button > Vix > install local extension

    or

Menu > Plugins > Software management > install local extension

The cable plugin requires DVBsnoop. This will be installed automatically if the image's plugin server "feeds" is available to you.

If you cannot access the plugin server, you will have to manually source dvbsnoop.

    cables.xml:

Some images do not have a cables.xml file. If this applies to you, download the attached cables.xml file. Unzip it then transfer it to /etc/enigma2/ and then restart teh reciver. If you are using an older type of image, transfer to /etc/tuxbox/

    Updated version is here

    Code
    https://github.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-tuxbox-common/tree/master/src

    Tuner configuration:

Menu > Setup > Tuner config > Tuner setup

    or

Menu > Setup > Service searching > Tuner configuration

There are three types of Cable network in the UK. "Pure NTL", "ex-cable & wireless" and "Telewest". Select your one. If you do not know, select "all systems".

    dbdb21a7.jpg

    Initial non-Autobouquets Scan:

AutoBouquets cable must be run while on a cable channel. So you must perform a scan first.

Menu > Setup > Tuner config/Service searching > Manual scan > Select cable tuner >

    Type of scan = complete

    Green to scan

(You can get away with just scanning a single frequency. If you do, ignore the BBC Two advice)

    3d9725a00199c8e4ba.jpg

    Autobouquets Scan:

The plugin must be run while on an active cable channel.

BBC Two is a good one to use as there are usually no duplicates. Any channel will do so long as you do not get a tuning error.

Start AutoBouquetsCable. Select your Net ID from the drop down menu.

    f653b.png

    Bail out:

If you do not satisfy the requirements, the plugin will stop. Please read the screen for what is wrong.

    7acde103e.png

    Completion:

Once the plugin has finished, exit out of all menus. You will see the bouquets.

There are only 5 free channels on UK cable. Just because it is free on satellite/terrestrial, it does not mean it is free on cable. There are no free HD channels. If the first five channels work, you have used the correct NetID and AutoBouquets Cable has done what it is meant to do. For other channels, please respect the forum rules.

You have just used Lraizer's Cable plugin. The numbers do match the official channel numbers. If you want to have the official numbering, consider using AutoBouquetsMaker.

There are three different plugins. Please do not mix them up when asking for support.

    AutoBouquets E2 28.2
