  • I asked because there are two types of links there are HLS (m3u8) and DASH.

Generally Enigma2 use gstreamer for media demuxing. In PLi-4 version 0.10 gstreamer is available. DASH was added to gstreamer in version 1.X.

To be able to play HLS links via gstreamer 0.10 you need to install

    gst-plugin-fragmented

I am not sure if feed of OpenPli 4 is still active, but anyway you can use diffrent solution.

You can install ffmpeg libs and allow IPTVPlayer to install exteplayer3.

exteplayer3 is player which use ffmpeg libs for demuxing media.

Please read here how to install valid ffmpeg libs for your image:

    http://iptvplayer.pl/ffinstallmipsel.html

For fast solution you can use gstplayer with buffering. In this way hlsdl will be used for data download. You can change active movie player under blue button "Set active movie player".

  • hi again SSS

i followed that link you added for installing ffmpeg libs

i did the checks & get this

    openssl = 1.01

    glibc = 2.20

    FPU mode = hard float

i have looked but there is no version that matches my setup to install bud ?

I also set first movie player in buffering mode to = external gstplayer

    But still same errors ?

    Thanks for helping SSS

I see that you not read my post carefully. You should select "[external gstplayer] with buffering".

In this mode ater link select at first you will see spinner showing download speed after the time the playback will start.

One again you not read instructions carefully.

In your case you should use package:

    • ffmpeg3.2.2_mipsel_fpu_hard_openssl1.0.0_dash_librtmp_native_rtmp.tar.gz

  • I feel like I’m in the naughty corner here? Lol

  • Did you select "[external gstplayer] with buffering".

I do not think, so. Because:

    ??

Aslo you not answer to my question, do you see buffering screen?

no I do not get buffering screen you added

This is a proof that, you not set active movie player with buffering mode.

    active_movie_player.png

Active movie player can be set/changed per each host separately.

i have some doubts. Do you really what to fix your problem? It looks for me that you do not want.

I also wrote to you how to provide debug logs. Why you not provide them?

  • Hi SSS,

Just tried quest tv,and video playback is stuttering/slow,same problem if video is recorded.

Altered movie player without buffering and video playback speeds up.

Tested BBC iplayer/UKTV/TV player all playing streams without issue.

Is the video format different for Quest?

Any help solving this greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Steve

  • Sorry, I really do not understand what you want to say?

Let provide video which you download from Quest on PC.

I do not think that you really did this but let provide such sample we will see.

Let make also different experiment let download streams in IPTV Player using recorder option and then try to play on PC.

I do not have any problems with Quest on my set-top-box. Maybe download speed is not high but video plays smooth without distortion.
