Images for later images sometimes include the later bootloader in the new image file.
So flash original BL for your box and Sim and the the (.NFI file that includes the later BL). -
This may not be relevent to DM800HD, BUT With my DM500HD clone sim 2.10 It is IMPORTANT to flash ssl84 (the original bootloader) before flashing a later bootloader in its place. Then flash the image. Also flash with a service cable with (sunray flashup) or (dreamup) its more reliable and you get more feed back during the process. Good Luck!

You need to know which sim card is inside the box first. There's 4 screws. You'll see the sim mounted to the side of the CAS card slot. If it's glued in with resin then it could be genuine dreambox with the original (A8P) sim card, don't try to remove! Resin sticks well, and you could damage the motherboard. More likely it'll have a (SIM 2.1),(SIM 2.10),(SIM 2.01),(Ferrari) or (Japhar) Sim, there may be others. Anyway once you have identified the sim and your DM500HD version .1 or .2 you can then search for the correct images, some sites are more dedicated to a specific type of sim. Then you need to read up on (OE1.6) & (OE2) images. And (second stage boot loaders). All pretty confusing. There's a PC programme called Opti-flasher that can download and flash the correct image for your sim & box, it costs a little if you want to download their suggested images. But it has helped me in the past. and flashing your own stored bootloaders & images is free. The prog also fixes the dreaded (NO CA found) error, and you can do the old (bad sector recovery) if you dare. I have a dreamboxUK image on mine, as it's small about 47KB, which is good on the v.1 box as you only have 64KB & you might want to install a plugin or two later.

Is the image ok for use with DM500hd ver.1 / sim210?

My Clone is a DM500HD sim210. I've tried flashing Via sunray and I manage to get the second stage bootloader flashed, but then the Image flash fails. "INVALID IMAGE..." I'm confused as to what image to flash. oe 1.6 or oe. 2.0. Or which boot loader.. ssl --- a,b,c,d. Also LAN fails error 10065. Pls Help.

Hi, sounds like your in the same boat as me mate. I flashed from (SSL83 E2-peter-pan image) to (SSL84d). I can't install any images for (E2 SSL84D SIM 2.0). I've tried a few up to date files and I get "invalid image (or old version)". Might try SSL83 and see if I can find an OLD image. Try HyperTerminal to access your box, you'll need the Mini-USB to USB cable and also the USB COM PORT drivers for your PC's O/S. This reports what the box is doing in real time. And if you boot the box with the I/O button pressed, will enter the BIOS of the dream box.
