Available where i live and nearly went with them until i got infinity for £10 a month. They do 1Gb up and down package and also 100Mb up and down too.

    SOLVED

    Going to keep it simple.

The static IP of my server configuration had a default gateway set at 192.168.1.1
The Home Hub 5 offers its default gateway on 192.168.1.254.

My old netgears default gateway was also 192.168.1.1 and as it should all worked correctly.

Logged into putty brought up the ip config details and edited default gateway to end and match with HH5 .254, a quick restart command later and boom peers hit me in seconds.

A BIG thanks to everyone who took time out to reply and especially to mckee25 for taking time out to teamviewer in and look at settings.

All I can tell you bud is that the HH5 deffo works for sharing & port forwarding etc...... have one myself. You sure you don't want teamviewer support just to have a fresh pair of eyes look over it... only other thing I can think of is your cam configs, just double check that the port in your configs is the one that you have forwarded in the hub....

I will gladly accept the offer of teamviewer support! Definately needs a fresh set of eyes.

Is the debian server showing in the list of devices when you click on the Home Network tab in the HH5 settings? then in the firewall tab under Port forwarding you will have the game or application that you would have had to create for the server... this should be assigned to the debian server in the drop down list... one thing here is to remember to "apply" the settings after you have added them.

Double checked all that and is all good. Port still showing as closed using checker. Going to try and restart HH5 and server. Fingers crossed.

Still the same. All working internally no problems at all. No one is connecting and port using checker still showing as closed.

Smart Setup was on turned it off. Will see how it goes. Thanks.

Is your server a box or a pc setup??? the device that you are port forwarding too will need to be restarted once you have all the settings done in the hub...

Running PC server with Debian at the moment. Going to try restart. Thanks.

Still nothing. Restarted HH5 and PC server. All working ok internally.

Ok the device that you have your server running on... is it set to DHCP?

If it is and you have changed the internal ip addy of it in the hub to something you either had assigned to it before or wanted to change it too you must restart that device for it to take effect... then try canyouseeme.com to check if the port is open.

If you want I can teamviewer in for you to check the settings... did one of these last night.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have the server set to a static ip and it has always been like this.

Had no problems at all on VM Superhub in modem mode.

When forwarding ports I have selected server in drop down list and also manually input server ip address both times I have checked using port checker and on both occasions it has failed.

I am useless at this type of thing but got a HH5 and got it sorted by way of teamviewer, working 100%,stick with it.

Thanks mate. I don't stop until I get it sorted, problem is I have been on laptop most of yesterday evening/night and today and most prob the same again tonight....mrs is not happy! lol

Hopefully someone might ask me to check something obvious and it will work. Just a matter of trial and error now as I am running out of things to check.

Also something I noticed about what Nano asked me to try, under settings the manual ip address is showing but now the mac address is all zeros, but when I previously selected my server from drop down list the mac was filled in? Not sure what that means.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have tried it that way too and still nothing. Open port checker tool still saying port is closed.

I dont have the HH5 but have managed for friends to get the HH4 Port Forwarding no problem, I have a HH3 myself as it appears to be the best solution for wi-fi compared to the 4&5.

Keep persevering with the HH5 it should port forward no problem

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

I have found a post on the BT forums regarding someone using a static ip for cctv and dns and that he resolved the problem by changing the static ip (coincidentally the same as mine) to something much lower less than 100 and it works. Sounds bonkers I know but im willing to give it a try. I did try to change the ip in the gui but it wont have it.

    Fingers crossed.

Tried changing static server ip to .84 and still the same. Also tried disabling firewall as one of the open port checker websites said packet filtering eg firewall was preventing packets from reaching that port.

Hi guys after some guidance please.

I have moved places and now have a new ISP.

Previously was with ****** now with BT.

I had superhub 1 in modem mode and used Netgear to port forward etc and all was perfect.

Now I have BT HH5, I have followed the guides how to port forward and all looks good in the GUI.

My problems are when I test to see if port is open it is showing as port closed. My server is working internally and my local is clearing but none of my peers can connect. Dyndns is updating fine in the hub and have tested by restarting a few times.

Not sure what else to try. My server has a set static ip of 192.168.1.201, I know this sounds silly but could the .201 be too high?

    Any advice/hints/tips I can try.

    Thanks in advance.

7000. Don't have a 5000 to test it on. As everyone knows you get the bug with this hobby and want more so moved onto e2 receivers.
