Display MoreSorry should have clarified that I was talkng about E2 images.
There are many ways to say things without actually using the exact words to convey the message. Hence why I said "effectively said", not "said".
A lot of people who buy the wetek do so with the intention of using both the xbmc side and E2 side. It is important for people to know what the limitations are before buying. Following quotes are from their support team.
They were given a copy of the logs where the USB tuners are recognised as USB input devices. The ROMs work with USB tuners on other devices. Just not on the devices using the drivers provided by Wetek.
There is a thread on OpenPLI in which Wetek also responded
There is also a thread on the Pbnigma forum.
I am sure that the wetek 4K will be wonderful for those using the supported software. Maybe not for other users, it is only fair that they know what they are getting into.
Ahhh got it, this is for E2, but probably kernel version in wetek e2 images is 3.14, so all usb tuners which are supported up to that one should work I guess...

On OpenELEC USB tuners works fine, of course those that are supported in Linux Kernel. Btw. Do you have somewhere at email support ticket where they told you that they dont care? :) I really doubt they told you that heh
