• Sorting & Filters: There are 16 sort options and 4 filters to display the MP3s. The sorting can be set via the setup, the filters using the buttons 6 - 9. The last used filter can optionally be loaded at the next startup of the plugin.
  Note: The alphabetic sortings by MP3 artists, titles and albums ignore the leading article "The".
  

• Cover: When you manual update a cover with the Google Image API (button 4) you should pay attention to a unique name of the cover filename, otherwise covers with the same filename (e.g. cover.jpg) will be overwritten in the cache folder.
  Hint: Orphaned Covers, Lyrics and Discogs Infos can be deleted inside the setup of the plugin with the function "Cleanup Cache Folder".
  

• Lyrics/Discogs: The ChartLyrics/lyrics.time and Discogs informations will be saved after the first download in the cache folder of the plugin with the extensions .lyrics and .discogs and can be edited if necessary.
  

• Database: The database is located in the plugin folder /db/database. The following database options are available:
  

  • Backup: With the setup option "Backup Database" a backup of the database is stored in the "backup" subfolder of the cache folder.
  • Restore: With the setup option "Restore Database" a previously made backup of the database is restored from the "backup" subfolder.
  • Edit: With the Text button single database values can be edited for the currently selected MP3, e.g. the artist or the name of the album.
  • Update: To check the MP3 folder for deleted or new MP3s, the database must be updated.
    There are 2 options to update the database:
    
    
    • Manual: With the Video button inside the plugin you can start a database update at any time.
    • At Plugin Start: With this Setup option, the database is automatically updated when the plugin starts. However this can delay the start of the plugin depending on the number of MP3s and the speed of the box.

    
    
    

  • Reset: In case of problems with the database, with the setup option "Reset Database" you can completely delete and recreate the database.

  
  
  

• MP3 folder: The plugin will search within the "MP3 Folder" selected in the setup and any subfolders for MP3 files. If the MP3s are in multiple, physically separated folders - e.g. on a second hard drive, another USB stick or a NAS - there are two ways to add one or more additional folders:
  

  • Manually: Select in the setup the additional folder as "MP3 Folder" and make a database update. The MP3s of the 1. folder remain in the database, the MP3s of the 2. folder will be added. Future database updates will synchronize only the MP3s of the last selected "MP3 Folder" in the setup.
  • Symlink: You can create a Linux symlink below the "MP3 Folder" pointing to the 2. folder (e.g. on a second hard drive or a NAS). The content of the 2. folder is then treated as physically located below 1. folder and future database updates will automatically synchronize all files in the 1. and 2. folder.
    Example:
    "MP3 Folder": /media/hdd/mp3
    2. Folder: /media/usb/mp3
    Telnet command to create the symlink: ln -s /media/usb/mp3 /media/hdd/mp3/usb
    For the 2. folder /media/usb/mp3 the symlink /usb was created below the "MP3 Folder" /media/hdd/mp3.
    Attention: Do not create another symlink in the 2. folder that points back into the 1. folder! This causes an infinite loop and the MP3s will be added multiple times to the database.

  
  
  

• Jump to movie/series with first letter: After pressing one of the arrow keys you can choose the desired initial letter with the numeric keys similar to writing a sms. A final pressure of the Ok button is not necessary: after 2 seconds without any input, the last initial letter is selected and the list will jump to the first entry beginning with the letter.
  Alternatively, you can choose with multiple pressures of the arrow keys the select group of letters, e.g. "DEF", and then press the Ok button for the single letter. Again, the last displayed initial letter is automatically selected if 2 seconds no input is performed.
  

• Greenscreen: When you create the database in the MP3 Browser and you get a greenscreen (GS) check the filenames of your movies for non UNIX-compliant signs, eg. ü or ö. These signs occur when network shares are mounted with an incorrect codepage. In that case mount the network share with the correct codepage or correct the filenames of your movies.

In the folder dm900 you can find the following files:

when the button red lights please release again.
5) Read the IP from the tv or the display.

6) On the PC with a Webbrowser connect to the box, with the IP you have previously read in the address field.

7) Now use the Firmware Upload and select the previously loaded image and start the flash operation.
8) Remove hook for backup and restore, we do not want the Dream OS settings to be transferred into the openATV.

OBH 0.6 online update issue (new flash files)

Due to recent changes in the OE-A git, we recommend you do not online update OBH 0.6, as it is likely to stop your box from booting.

If you wish to update, please make a backup of your image first, and then use the new full flash update.

You will then be able to online update in future.

Please also remember to make periodic full backups of your image, just incase there are any future issue's, as it is outside of our control what other developers commit to the OE-A git and the build process is automated, therefore we can only fix issues when they arise but we are unable to predict them.

Hereby we announce that from tomorrow, OpenPLi will have JESS support.

For those not familiar with JESS, it's a system comparable to Unicable, but with extended capabilities (more positions, more user bands).

Users not employing Unicable or JESS equipment will experience no difference.

For users that have installed Unicable equipment, unfortunately, they will need to reconfigure their tuners. That's due to tuner configuration having changed. It's more logical and simpler now. In the process, we added a pile of preconfigured Unicable and JESS switches, so most users will not have to enter all user bands separately; they can now just choose the appropriate switch model.
