i dont think coreelec supports hisilicon chips. you may have more luck with libreelec

What version of E2 are you using?

not sure what you ended up doing with these but id be interested to take off your hands for development purposes

wzzhhzwy this sounds more like an issue related to the version of Enigma you have installed. not for here. This is general HOWTO for changing firmware etc.

It appears that you have some player issues going on. Is this a fresh install? Did you give it all the necessary permissions on first open? Maybe completely uninstall. Using a file browser, manually locate the Kodi folder and delete it. Refer to their wiki for the location. Afterwards, go back and reinstall. Make sure to allow everything. Lastly, make sure that you are using an official source.

Hello all,

I recently acquired one of these devices. Being a seasoned Amlogic developer, I see there isn't much documentation here on this device. Because of this, I am creating this place marker for others. Updates to come as soon as it arrives.

There are plenty of images already for this device. Maybe I will compile a few more for everyone too. :)

Flashing:

Over the past week I have familiarized myself with the device and flashing. Fortunately, there just isn't a good tutorial for any of it. I will be adding procedures for updating, upgrading, downgrading, changing out E2, etc. etc. in just a little bit. Need to compile all of my documentation first.

Fixes:

Ok so some of you may have installed beta versions of ATV8 on NAND (eMMC) and noticed that various things no longer worked such as loosing the dual boot feature, Enigma2 or Media Center no longer working, etc.

abu baniaz thanks for the prompt response. I am familiar with the WeTek devices. I didn’t think OpenVision had one for it. Also, correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the Pi a Broadcom chip? Pretty sure, but don’t want to dust it off to find out. Not even sure if I still have the keys for the codecs unlock.

OK admins, I've scoured through the forum to pick a "best" place to place this thread. Here is where I landed. Please move if needed.

So, I have been developing on Amlogic devices for quite a while now and I have a mediocre handle on certain aspects of the forum. I'm looking to expand on that. Because of this, I'm ready to compile for the equipment that I have. Not buy new or used. I only do IPTV and have tuners for getting what else I need. Here are my questions:

1. What devices do you know off hand use the meson (not meson-64) platform? (Yes, i know platform isn't the right word)
   • I know the K series devices are pretty close. Any other suggestions?
2. What OS do you suggest?
   • Right now I'm leaning towards OpenVision 7 as they have worked really hard recently to get their OS going. (I respect that.)

That is for writing this up. Now, if only I had a dish...

Using Kodi is perfectly fine. I have been for a REALLY looonnnng time. You need to modify your advanced settings. Depending on what version you have, those settings will be different. You can reference the wiki for some info.
