I don't know where you're located but that sounds like 5G interference.

I think you can only if it's h2.65 1080p or less otherwise that box will not display 4k material.

I don't remember this happening before so perhaps something got messed up...
I have cband on Tuner A and Ku on Tuner B.
If I attempt to blindscan as soon as I go into the menu the satellite show is my furthest west satellite regardless of where I'm actually at in the arc. Before I can do anything my positioner start moving toward that satellite which is not what I want to happen.
Why is this satellite always shown in the blindscan menu by default (I feel like this wasn't always the case ?) and why does the diseq command get sent to move my dish to that position ?

No your thinking is too old school, symlinks are a much better proposal.
This could be done inside the images, same as they've all mostly coded multiboot options inside.
-
The only way to do that is by stopping enigma2 by command line, moving the lamedb files, bouquets files (or the etc/enigma2 folder) to a shared mount point and then create a symlink to it on every image.
Otherwise, Transfer to PC, boot into other image, transfer back.
This might work but my limited linux knowledge might make more trouble for me than it would solve.
I wonder if this is something the image makers would be interested in adding so that it can be done behind the scenes by toggling a switch ?
-
With respect to the OP's query is there a way to SHARE lame.db and oscam with other compatible boot slots ?
It is possible using AJPanel. Back up the ones you are interested in and restore them in the next image.
You would have to do this every time you change to another image so that's a non-starter.

I always thought it would be a good idea to use any image you want with the ability to switch to another and have that image reflect any changes made by scanning new channels etc. while using a previous slot/image.

You may have to stop Enigma2 from telnet with INIT 4.
After you have transferred over the settings type INIT 3 to restart Enigma2 then reboot.
-
it's close source, we can't see what it's doing. when you ask the developer you only get insults, that's why we don't support this
Lol no worries I 100% understand that.
Seems to be working fine with same image for a DM920 instead of the DM900.
-
I can't explain it but I used a current nightly for the DM920 and everything is working as expected so far.
Maybe a driver issue ?
-
The author seems to not like many things. He has every right to turn it off remotely if he wishes until then I will use it as I see fit.
For me this is about learning WHY this is working or not working as expected. There is an educational aspect to this hobby which is much more gratifying than watching tv.

It's not installed to primary slot if that's what you mean.
I know it's not supported but many have installed OE2.2 images to Barry Allen without issue.
-
Installed the same image on an SF8008 I also have and FTP is working fine so something peculiar to the DM900 or Barry Allen.
-
Isn't there a way to check ftp ON THE DEVICE to rule out other factors first ?
-
How can I snoop the communication ? What is the linux command to read the system log in real time ?
-
I kind of doubt that. If I open up other images from Barry Allen FTP works from the same PC
-
Opened up a terminal and typed "telnet 'ip' 21". No joy just "Connecting to ip" and hung.
Actually it said "Connected" not "Connecting" but still hung there ? Is something else supposed to happen ?
-
Do you mean open up a Terminal on my desktop and type "telnet ip:21" ?
-
by default root user requires password to connect via ftp. It can be skipped by editing pamd rules for vsftpd.
The password is included in the profile for the connection.
All I get is "Connection established, waiting for welcome message..."
Then it times out after 20 seconds or so.
edit: I'm using Filezilla

Install a newer version, at what I can remember one version was buggy and then fixed later... perhaps an online update could fix it,
TS
Updated 87 packages. All went well but still no FTP.
