Unless I call this one Jedi Live. :upside down face:

The old Jedi still works anyway (for vod - sketchy on series). We just trying to make the codebase better, and bring in some requested new functionality.

That makes perfect sense to bring out the new one as "Jedi Live" , as you say there is no problem with using an older version for those that require the full offering. As a case iin point I still use v3.6 as it works just fine for my needs so no need to invite update gremlins, lol

KiddaC, is it not better (and save yourself a load of hassle) to make Jedimaker a dedicated "Live" (and catchup) plugin. Especially as your Xtremity option is a much better offering for those looking for the vod and series.

Perhaps you should take a vote to see percentage of users who really need vod/series in jedi

Many providers are considering stopping mag llines, so not a good time to be purchasing a mag box

Just use a playlist editor to arrange your bouquets, use that source into Jedi and then update will always stay as you desire

@robcwm So you're saying to go into playlists screen where it shows server not responding and then wait over 1 min before pressing the OK button to load?

@KiddaC If I host the m3u file on my NAS with a valid http address (I can download with wget) it shows not responding and pressing OK gives the invalid URL message, if I put the same m3u file in /etc/enigma2/jediplaylists/ then it loads OK, so I assume the m3u file itself is valid

Yes lincsat, best way is when playlist shows red (no connection) having added the playlist, back out of Jedi, wait a few minutes then reopen jedi, playlist should now show green and you can proceed to press "create". The anti-flood timelock on m3u4u doubles up on each attempt made so its easy to run up a 30 min lockout with a few impatient clicks

I've just tried after about 20 Hours and still Red. Can you confirm that downloads from m3u4u do usually work on Jedi

Yes m3u4u works via jedi ok, have you checked m3u4u website messages/emails maybe if you been overdoing the anti-flood timelock you have been blocked from m3u4u

I've been experimenting with this on ViX PY3 image whilst I try to get Sulls app upgraded to PY3. I use playlist editors like the XEEV and M3u4u. If I put the m3u link from these sites in the playlist.txt, it gives server not responding and on pressing OK, says invalid URL. If I download the m3u and place it on my NAS and enter the external link, then the same happens. If I put the m3u on the box, then it loads OK, so the file itself is valid.

Not sure if I'm missing something but isn't it supposed to download a standard m3u from an external link or does it only download from the panel link with the API call. I was just trying to automate the process as much as possible without having to manually download and FTP to box every time something changes

Not sure for XEEV, but for m3u4u there is a download timelock so when first entering a playlist you have to wait at least 1 minute between making call to m3u4u to verify server conn before pressing green "create". usually that 1 min is not an issue as it takes longer than that to type in the epg url. After that daily auto bouquet update works as intended. Regarding not loading when copy pasting into

Using Optus Sport url Ive found they only have Os1 and Os2 so this maybe an issue with finding a match but I cant test yet

    Code
    https://i.mjh.nz/Optus/epg.xml

Optus 1 and 2 are the main channels, others Optus 3 etc are on demand, only broadcast as and when and providers invariably mix them up

so 3 for one could be 5 on another provider

    Hi KiddaC,

I saw your logic in trimming the list to best matches, but as Delboy pointed out can cause issues. My thought was perhaps you could to offer both options via a settings tab i.e best match for those it works for, and the all matches for the problem ones.

An issue I have which hopefully you may be able to address (via something like a tooltip popout) is that the text of some epg tvgs are to long for the 4th column and thus have no idea which to select, The HK now sports being a classic example where theres numerous showing but the relevant channel 1,2, 3 etc identifier runs off the screen.

Other changes in epgshare01 sources. Last symbols in US-LOCALS are _LOCALS2 (instead of _LOCALS1) and in INDIA - _IN4 (instead of _IN2)

US Locals 1 had become bloated and un-manageable with many being regional rather than true local stations hence the update to locals 2 by them. Epg's that appear to have dissappeared in locals2 should now be found

    in the US option

tbe , I do not have service app installed any more but out of 4 providers only one of mines will play (DVB) 1 all the rest 4097.

Nothing to do with jedimaker or xstreamity just their streams.

Same for me, two providers and both worked fine with (DVB)1, then few weeks back one provider changed to a new server and since then that service will only play via 4097.

Just a heads up info on these newly added sources, they are compiled as supplementary epg to the m3u4u offering, thus you may find many unexpected omissions of main channels

Yea my box has frozen on trying to update epgshare-USA-Locals source so if a few are like that then it would freeze on all sources

not sure on that, i have usa locals on my technomate but i have not refreshed list recently and the dev has added quite a few extras on there over recent weeks

dsayers, its not such a good idea unless you only have option to add a single epg source for two reasons, 1. no of channels to scroll thro to assign will be massive and more importantly 2. the "all sources" often fails to finish populating correctly each night due to its massive size. The guy who compiles it all only added "all sources" option for the android app users who are limited to one extra epg source

I cannot see any issue with running Jedimaker for "Live" (which can run thro an editor to get ideal layout) and Xtreamity for "VOD / Series / Catchup" which is how I do it.

Long press Blue button configured to initiate Xtreamity from any bouquet screen and stop/exit takes me straight back to previous live channel
