what's what if that's that?

Could you explain more?

OK. Thanks. Will try it out.

Jim, thanks for your answer!
So the user account on server A could be so called a "dummy user" and not a user connected to a "physical" box for getting the EMM's? -
-
Update: Setting at least one account within the server where the card is connected works I can now see "All EMM's: 173" which I have never seen before. Now the tough cookie is to how to set it up without an account and just having the newcamd connection from the other server which will hold my accounts.
Any thought or hint would be greatly appreciated!

Well I like having two servers. It's cleaner and give me some chance to fiddle around with Oscam.
I'll do what you wrote and start with setting up with one account serving the card.
Thanks for answering! -
Read this thread: updating entitlements via oscam
Use the configs in the above thread in your server where users are connected.......
Sorry but the link you referred to was not working for me. Did you really understand my question, I guess not.
-
Thanks, I'll read it through!
As I understand then, is that my newcamd connection, to the server with the local card, should be set to AU then, is that correct?
Should also one of the users, on the server without the card, also be set to AU, or is the newcamd connection enough to be set to on?Is there anyway to check if I have done the right thing before the entitlements run out?

Guys,
I have the following question:I have set up two instances of Oscam on two different computers.
One is having the physical card and will only have that without any users.
The other will serve for the users I add there. There’s not many users since I will have it for my household and maybe one or two friends.They are connected with the newcamd protocol.
How should I set up AU so the server with the card will get updates? Is this possible at all or do I need at least one Dreambox connected to it set as AU to get updates? Or is it possible to get AU from the servers which holds my users?

What does this red number next to my user (reader) mean?
Just popped up all of a sudden. -
Hehe, he's still a weirdo but I may change my mind.. :48_002:

au parameter is only needed if you are updating entitlements on a real card, you`re not so remove it..
hop 2 and above is the most stable with less ecm time, 3,4,5 is further away from the real card, more ping = less stable.
If you don`t want to reshare use cccreshare = 0Thanks for the explanation. But I still can't grasp the "hop" thing. Do I need any "hops" at all? What do the do
they actually do?
:59: -
Thanks for your answer.
But I have difficulties to really understand what you're saying. I know it's me that have no clue.
But is what you're saying, that if the newcamd connection on his part has AU, I shouldn't worry?Also how about my users should they have “cccmaxhops = 2” and “cccreshare =2”?

Well,
Ok, I finally (after listening to you guys) did bit the apple and asked the guy if he could give me some more lines for my other friends. (See this for an update: http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=87349)
The thing was that he asked me if I could hook him up with my sister for a date. Said and done I talked her in to that after begging and some sugar talking her...So this way he gave me a “newcamd” line where I could hook up a couple of friends.
I set up a newcamd connection following this article: http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=12230
So my set up looks like this:Quoteoscam.conf
[global]
serverip = xx.xxx.xx.xx
logfile = stdout
clienttimeout = 9000
fallbacktimeout = 7500
clientmaxidle = 0
netprio = 1
dropdups = 1
block_same_ip = 0
block_same_name = 0
[cccam]
port = 55007
nodeid = 47181FA7105D13C6
version = 2.3.0
ignorereshare = 1
[webif]
httpport = 65003
httpuser = xxxxxxxxxx
httppwd = xxxxxxxxxx
httprefresh = 10
httppollrefresh = 10
httpallowed = 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255Quoteoscam.user
[account]
user = Bastardo
pwd = xxxxxxxxxxx
description = Bastardo
monlevel = 4
group = 3
cccmaxhops = 2
cccreshare = 2[account]
user = Mike
pwd = xxxxxxxx
monlevel = 4
group = 3
cccmaxhops = 2
cccreshare = 2Quote[reader]
label = Barnaby
protocol = newcamd
device = xxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxxx,55033
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
user = test
password = test
connectoninit = 1
group = 3
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-u = 1
blockemm-s = 1
blockemm-g = 1
dropbadcws = 1
audisabled = 1All is up and running quite well, but I have some questions:
A. Do you think it is OK?
B. My users Mike and Bastardo, should they have “cccmaxhops = 2” and “cccreshare =2”. Are they really needed? I don’t want to reshare anything.
C. I don’t have any “AU” set on any users and no “AU” on the reader. The guy tells me that that the “newcamd” connection to his server has “AU” set. Will that be enough to update my users?
D. If you have any further suggestions I’m all ears ;)
Thanks for reading :41_002:

Let me get this straight, you want to abuse the line that he gave to a friend of yours in the hope he'll never know, and you think he's a rat-ass.
Good point, but you don't know this guy. He's really a weirdo. I've done him some favors that's why I got it in the first place.

no criticism intended just statement mate but it sound like payserver cline to me, i some friends at work who dont have local card & they can have second cline for bedroom if they wish but stricly no reshare
Well, no it's not a payserver. He doesn't charge me at all. I don't know but he may charge others, but I don't think so.
-
All right, I get it. Thanks for your answers. Will have to ask that rat-ass to give me some extra hops then. I don't know if he's such an expert to see the extra ecm's, but if he is maybe it's better to ask him, since as you say there no way to do it without him knowing it.
-
All right, maybe this question doesn’t belong here but I’ll ask anyway.
I’ve got a C line from a friend’s friend. As I understand it, if I wanted to share this on to another 3-4 friends of mine I would have to ask for an F line with additional hops. Well, I don’t want to ask him for this since he’s a pain in the butt ;)Is there a way of doing a re-share anyway? Can I just use cache-ex to that? Could I just cache his c line and share this cache to my friends or am I in deep water here?
Thanks

problem solved and if it can help another person
I configured "single block = Ip-no and Name-no" in the configurationWhere have you found the "single block = Ip-no and Name-no" configuration?
