2 years ago I bought the original Wetek Play as the idea to combine Android and E2 really attracted me. I ended up abandoning the box as it was too slow and too buggy compared to my e2 boxes. It seems the new gen combo boxes are now very interesting. I was looking this afternoon at the A5 combo as well as the Gemma H9S. The H9S seems to support multistream (interesting for me as I use it to watch French tv channels on 5W sat). On the other hand i read marvels about the A5 combo, that almost gives you an e2 experience on the android. Anyone compared the two boxes?

Can someone confirm if the uno 4K SE has DVB-S2X tuners capable of multistream? As I need Openpli, I cannot get the DM or the Gigablue, but am interested in pulling the trigger on the VU+

I managed to flash open blackhole which than boots OK. However when trying than to reflash with openpli, it gets stuck. No clue why.

mmmmmm....... it s not formatting - I get to flashing image and than the LCD shows nothing and the process is not moving forward. 2 different USBs with the same result.

I tried already two USB sticks. One of them flashed my DUO2 on Sunday. Don't think it's the problem.

Hi, Failed attempt at running a script and my 4K is bricked and I cannot flash it (it is stuck on the initial splash screen). I think I need to flash a bootloader but cannot find it. Anyone can help?

The Dreambox 900UHD is now showing in different German sites as available from Nov. 18th and priced as from 300 EUR - 100 EUR less than the base price for the VU+ Solo 4K. Anyone has more info on the box? I have been faithful to VU+ for almost 4 years now, but I am looking to get a a 4k box for the living room and this one looks more than interesting. Feedback is welcome!!

after a couple of days with openatv 5.3, it works much much better. so staying for now with my Solo SE

I upgraded to Openatv 5.3. Let's see how it works. Needless to say prefer to keep my existing box if i can get it to work the way I want it

Hi, thanks will check this! I am using Open ATV 5.2 right now. Works great on all other aspects. i use the same exact image on my Duo2 which streams perfectly.

I am from Belgium so prefer to buy around here in €. I have a Solo SE V1. I've been investigating this problem for a long time. It clearly has no transcoding. On another post I saw an entire discussion that basically stated that both the Zero and the SE were "zappers" so could not support recording and streaming properly. I did implement an extension called pau that was supposed to solve this but with little effect. At the moment and on the same network, my Duo2 streams perfectly to my Mac IdreamX and to my blackbox app on my ipad. The Sole SE does not stream to IdreamX, streams to blackbox app but with a lot of freezes.

Don't know if the SE V2 is different, but I am more inclined to indeed don't take a chance and get a Solo2 instead. I am a bit miffed with the Solo 2 since the box is already 3 years old and is kind of stingy on some specs, but do not see a better alternative in the market....

No don't need a double tuner. i stream only when the tv is not on. it enables me basically to watch TV in bed. i would like to spend 200 EUR ideally, but if no alternative than I'll spend the 250 eur for the Solo2

I bought last year a Vu+ Solo SE for our up stairs TV. No issues on the box except that i struggle a lot when streaming from the box to my Mac (to VLC via iDream) or to my ipad (I use blackbox pro). I investigated this issue for a long time and there's clearly a limitation with the box, so decided to replace it.

I thought of getting a Solo2, although the box is a bit expensive. The Xtrend ET8000 looks as an option although it seems that xtrend stopped selling the box. I am also concerned te Xtrend has no transcoding which my be limiting for streaming.

Any feedback/advice is appreciated :-)

it should be accessible via web browers , vlc player and upnp devices if used with mediatomb aswell you would need to let the ports used threw on router possibly depending if y9uo have DMZ turned on or off on wetek

Too complicated for me when comparing to how easy it is with the Vu+, i can probably get it to work, but don't have time for that unfortunately...

Thanks for the advice Honcho. I will try and have a look at your backup. Can you explain in more details how I can stream using tuner server to iPad? what App I need to run on the ipad?

whats the issue with oscam not been stable , what rev oscam you using and wifi or hardwired ?may be able to help you get it sorted

I use OpenATV 5.1 on the Wetek. OSCAM is rev 10660, but for some reason my setup needs an OSCAM rev under 10000 (On my DUO2 running also OpenATV 5.1 I use Rev 9990 and it works to perfection). Problem is I cannot find that Rev for the Wetek. Second issue is that streaming to Blackbox pro on my Ipad is not working correctly. The app supports officially only DM, VU+ and Xtrend boxes. I tried looking for other apps; but none work as well as Blackbox pro and it is really useful to stream TV to my iPad in bed when the Duo2 is taken........

Finally - the Wetek is hardwired as is my Duo2.

A few weeks ago I bought a wetek Play from my upstairs TV, selling in the process my vu+ Solo box. The idea was to use the Wetek both as an android box (needed for internet TV streaming via web browser) and a satbox using E2 (easier to setup as I can share settings and experience with my main living room box - Duo2). Thing is after testing 4 different E2 images and trying all sorts of tweaking, I cannot get the Wetek to run E2 the way i want to. I am struggling getting OSCAM to work 100% smoothly, and I also cannot get it to stream correctly to my ipad (I use the Blackbox pro app) which is also important for me.

So for now, I'm giving up on the "one box does it all" thing, and I want to get again a dedicated E2 box next to the Wetek (Which I will continue using on Android for now). Don't need a duo2, but need something reliable, FHD, support for HDD recording and streaming to blackbox pro. I am debating between a Vu+ and an Xtrend. Would prefer to keep it low budget but wiling to spend up to 200 EUR. Advice and recommendations are welcome.

Hi, I cannot get Openatv to stream to VLC or to my Blackbox app. Do I need to install a plugin or this simply does not work on the wetek play (on my vu+ boxes this always worked directly out of the box on every image I ever installed....)

Hi, i just installed the last image; but I cannot get a softcam to work. tried both cccam and OSCAM. I can get the CAM installed, but can't get them to work. not sure if becuase my config files are in the wrong place (/usr/keys) or because something else is wrong. Any ideas?
2nd question is resolution. The image accepts a 1080p video setting, but HD channels not always show in the right resolution. Again happy for some advice....

I am restarting this thread as I am having the same discussion. At the moment I have two devices connected to my 2nd TV:
- A VU+ for sat tv using a cccam line
- An Android TV box for Kodi streaming + web browser for TV streaming

I would like to try out wetek to see if it can replace both. My only concern is how smooth the sat part is. I need a smooth zapping between channels cleared by my C-line, as well as being able to easily scan and manage my bouquets like i do today with Vu+. I am concerned this is not as smooth on the wetek as it is on VU+ with E2.
