    Hi dacorsa

I have not had a chance to look at this yet (as always i have been working over Easter :face with rolling eyes: )

Anyways i now seem to remember there was indeed an issue getting this to work for satellite, (even when we had it working years for sat to cable)

IMO something must have changed with crossepg over the years with all of it modifications to keep it working -

support from the original author ended many many years ago.

It may be an idea to put your STB in debug mode and track whats happening in an effort to see where it is failing in the process, either in reading the data or after that.

You may find we will need to modify the script it runs on either here: https://github.com/E2OpenPlugi…er/scripts/alias/alias.py

    or https://github.com/E2OpenPlugi…nigma2/crossepg_epgcopy.c

There is another plugin that may be easier, and should work as a solution for you..... at least for data based on openTV (like sky UK and sky IT)

GitHub - LraiZer/RadiotimesXmltvEmulator: generate radtiotimes xmltv feed compatible data files directly from dvb stream data.
generate radtiotimes xmltv feed compatible data files directly from dvb stream data. - LraiZer/RadiotimesXmltvEmulator
    github.com

    see its help documents:

    RadiotimesXmltvEmulator/Radio-Times-EPG-Emulator.pdf at gui-plugin · LraiZer/RadiotimesXmltvEmulator

    github.com

once you download the epg data with the emulator it then populates the channels with epgimporter plugin

If you modify the xmltv files that epgimporter uses to include your other channels (based on there service reference's)

You will have the same data on all of the channels you also add.

Have a look at what i am talking about, see if you can do it, otherwise let me know if you need help and will have a look when home.

    1. make sure you have oscam emu not just oscam

    2. scan in the biss encrypted feed on your satellite dish - ensure you have reception.

    3. Add the CW key in the right format to the softcam.key file - the key adder plugin works well for enigma2

    4. Restart oscam emu and watch the channel

The key adder plugin can be found HERE and can be installed with a simple putty command:

    Code
    wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/fairbird/KeyAdder/main/installer.sh -O - | /bin/sh

feeds and keys are found HERE

MY memory bank is not what it once was lol, but if you look at the file on github there is examples

Like ian1095 says i only ever did this for satellite to cable

When i get time later on tonight i will have a go at satellite to satellite

in the mean time see the help files:

And from when we did it all them years ago:

    Code
    4seven-bskyb=4Seven,4SevenHD,4seven HD

    Where this is:
    channel name-provider=channel name,channel name,channel name

So dacorsa in you examples below you are missing the provider (i have not checked the others - will do so when i have time tonight)

    Code
    Eurosport 1=Eurosport 1 International HD
    Eurosport 2=Eurosport 2 International HD

Im pretty sure this is the same old problem from 3/4 years ago?

we have seen it with the MTN package on multiple sats, 15 west is the last i can remember.

There is no solution that i am aware of, (at least for e2) and now that one the main oscam emu dev's has bailed from the hobby....

I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix anytime soon.

    Still working just fine.

    Code
    2025/04/01 00:57:03 4EF6A015 c (ecm) anonymous (P: 0961:000000:1078:0509:FFFF: #ECM_L:B5 #CW=5523B62E19EF70780000000000000000 HOP:00): found (138 ms) by local2 - SkySpMainEv - Sky UK (Icam)

That is what you get for using a pay server

We dont support payservers on this forum take your issue up with them

Sorry to hear about the lightening strike, that must have been an expensive repair right there !! A 12ft dish is a lot for it to aim at mind.

I have read about using an earthing rod for the mounting pole / dish. Is this what you have done ?

it always seemed a bit OTT to me. Besides my dish is only 3ft and not far from the house which is a much larger and taller target lol.

Feeds are the same over hear, the TP goes live shortly before an event and is dead shortly after.......

Generally speaking they seam to reuse the same range of TP's when the next feed comes up....but not always, and it differs between sats.

I had the original SF8008 (aka its Version 1), and it's blind scan worked very well (way better than my VU dose)

But i detested the remote control and its click click click buttons.....I believe the newer Bluetooth ones are now better ?

I had been thinking about getting one myself, but it looks like a house move is on the cards for me soon, and that will mean moving my bloody dishes yet again.... so will probably put it's purchase on the back burner for now until all of that is all sorted.

No doubt there will be some reviews about it's real world tests on the forums shortly .......

Jens? Do you have any links? Because apparently Google is not my friend today.

All i have found for it is either on other forums or on amazon.de where it is already for sale.....

i posted this translation to another thread:

I know you have had the OS mio4k + has it died a death ? That has always been highly rated as one of the best blind scanners....but sadly not made anymore.

I have had various VU plus STB's over the years.

None of the FBC tuners can blind scan (in fact i dont think any FBC tuner on any STB can blindscan)

So that either leaves you with the VU Zero4k or looking at getting an old ( and i mean used - as dont think they are made anymore) pluggable tuner that can blindscan from one of the spare tuner slots.... on say the VU ultimo4k ( that is also not made any more)

VU driver updates were always very very slow and now.... for all intensive purposes, their support for the hobby market STB has all but ended.

In short, im saying forget about getting a VU, you will be disappointed if blind scanning is your main objective.

my old VU ultimo4k runs an even older AVL6222 (thats been repaired a few times as well lol )

Think the 2 STB's that have the 6261 tuner have been mentioned, although the sf8008 also used another type at some point (that was crap)

There is a "new version 3" SF8008 on the way that has the old AVL tuner back ( and an MS2 slot and bluethooth wifi etc etc )

There is not many STB's without a tuner TBH.....

There is a version 3 octagon SF8008 on the way, which may be worth looking at.... im thinking about it myself

    NEU: OCTAGON SF8008 V3 SUPREME COMBO / TWIN V3 Modelle mit M.2 SSD Schnittstelle | Octagon-Germany.eu

The m2 SSD and SD card slot should make recording easy..... and keep things tidy.

Here are details on its specs from amazon (translated)

I agree with TS, keep your solo 4k....it is still a great STB - just disable your tuners if they not going to be used.

Also any combo STB is either one or the other of that combo....IE - you cant use both sides of the combo at the same time.

Its far better to have 2 devices even on the same TV....

changing to a different HDMI input takes seconds rather than up to 2 minutes to reboot between say android and linux.

Also most peeps ( and i agree) will say that a combo never really works well on either side - IE both the linux and Android side of the STB are not great.

IMO the combo is a good idea in theory..... but in reality dose not work well in practice.

First and foremost remember happy wife...... happy life :smiling face:

Whilst i love my live sport, that i get from my sat dishes and the thousands of channels they offer......my wife and kids don't really use them at all.

Absolutely everything they watch is "on demand" from all of the different streaming services -( we have just about all of the official ones as well as multiple IPTV providers.)

So i don't really save any money by having my sat dishes :laugh1:

its not worth the hassle of me trying to explain that every thing they watch "on demand" could have been recorded anyways..... :exploding head:

UK channels over here at night for the wife to watch the following day due to +7 hour time difference

Some streaming device (like your fire cube) and a VPN should enable you to use the "on demand" stuff from BBC, ITV, Channel 4, my 5 etc etc

As you probably know some IPTV providers offer there own "on demand" content as well.

I have missed this plugin, and have slowly been getting it working again for the last few weeks.

I say slowly as it has been a sharp learning curb for me. (Im not a coder)....I also have very limited free time of late, so often have to leave it for a week at a time.

Im currently scrapping data (with permission) from Sat universe, and I have asked momi133 for permission to update his plugin.

They have been very welcoming so thank you to both:thumbs up:

Im working on it slowly, so don't expect any updates any time soon.....but i am determined to get this back up and running when time allows.

As you can see it still needs work:
