Not so easy...how are you supposed to connect to the box via telnet to change anything if the linux password is unknown? tuxbox commander is only way really as explained below.

Obviously the latest omnikey driver would need to be added to the server or manually installed on whichever image? you are using.

You are barking up the wrong tree converting serial numbers...nobody ever converted a serial number into a boxkey ! that was most likely a misinterpretation most people got used to in the uk with a Nagra1 hack which actually turned out to be a stolen database for certain pace models...also with *** uk the serial number only ever revealed the boxid or receiver id as we know it....not the actual boxkey...which nds dont use anyway lolz.

I was in south africa in 2006...they was using i_deto2 at that time.

As nano says you are best to leave it alone as you are not going to solve your puzzle by randomly posting on websites...lots of knowledge required for what you are after..

Not surprised its melted your brain as those boxes are a pain in the arse...i would suggest selling the thing if you get it fixed and let someone else deal with the box...get a vu range box if you can afford it.

No particular reason except that i had had similar booting issues with earlier apollo revisions...my box was booting fine today on rev 055 and because feeds were down i assumed 055 was the latest...update to latest revision is what i should have advised.

sly were doing this crap with the high ecms last year...they seem to do it at the weekend when servers will be busy ! seems to be random weekends that they choose to do this tho but cache seems just fine for now unless they try and change something else again like they did with rte2

Yes its a bootloader/and or driver issue with vix...i reckon its something to do with anti-clone measures vix are now using in the latest apollo builds but it might affect genuine boxes too..i await my bollocking lolz

Update your genuine box to apollo version 055 and it will probably sort itself out

Zone 2 sly dish which is used for areas outside englands strong footprint! never seen one that bad before and i have seen a few dishes beleive me...its usually people who live close to the coast that end up with dishes looking like that due to the salt air but that is an old type dish.

I agree with everyones suggestion on the gable end install..it really would be in situe and you can either replace that old thing or install side by side and use the zone2 to supply feeds to other boxes around your home..tbh tho i probably would replace that and you can get an adaptor for that old lnb to save buying a new one or you can diy it yourself but a new quad is cheap as chips with the sale of a new dish.

I would not touch that pole in the garden mate....it already is an eyesore so adding a dish of any size would just cause allsorts of issues for various reasons.

You can also use a fixed L bracket for your motorised and then just use the save sat function but its never recommended as usals will likely never function properly but the important sats like 1west round to 28.2 will be ok even with a 88cm triax....88cm is also council friendly if you have those type of issues...or bad neighbour issues lol...good luck on whatever you decide to do tho.

Ps i would defo grease up all your external dishes and aerials if you end up with new equipment like dishes and motors...any nuts and bolts anyway.

You will probaly find loads of basterdised versions for e2 that is not good...been saying it for a while to watch out but nobody seems to listen!
