I got two solo2 boxes and they do the same thing. I don’t know how do I tell
-
Is there any other Procedure to flash Vu+ boxes or is there a bootloader for them to get them started again ?
-
Please note there is no support for VU clones on this forum, so clear that up first
First give away "black" screws on the back of the receiver.
The upper STB is a clone the lower a genuine one

5a921e0cf1802b.jpgYeah just opened the Vu+ solo2 and it looks like the genuine picture.
-
I think mine is genuine can someone tell me what to do if flashing don’t work like some tool to install as box not showing digital display at all thanks for input guys.

disconnect the internal hdd and all other connections bar the power
low level format you usb stick to fat32 http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low-Level-Format-Tool/
use the rear usb port
try flash it again mate, use a basic image
-
There’s two connectors on hdd unit I took both off put usb in back and flashed box ATV 6.1 but still dead did you mean take every connector of I.e the the two screen connectors near the front of box as well as fan connectors or just hdd connectors because I tried that already thanks for your time

I meant the hdd as you have done
the satellite cables
the hdmi cable
the ethernet cable
any other usb device
And format the stick your trying to use with the low level format tool above
Have you got a usb stick with led light in it ?? So you can see the led flash when the stick is working ??
Unplug the power cable, insert the usb stick, reconnect power cable, turn on with rocker switch, press power button and hope it flashes
if not then try another usb stick, it is wierd how you have 3 boxes all with issues mate, see this guide
http://linux-tv.com/how-to-fla…-vu-solo2-with-usb-stick/
If still no good then i will ask if you have a serial data cable and a PC with a real rs232 port so we can check the boot log......
I never ever had any issue flashing any of my solo2's (i have now sold them though)

It is not looking good if the usb ports are dead.....
Is there any text display on the front of the box ?? Dose it display "flashing" or anything on the VFD??
Try another usb stick, a 2gb or less if you have one....
If still no good then its probably a corrupted nand....
-
I’m going to try another usb I’ve only got 15gb smallest just low formating at moment then I will give it a another go so no light on usb when in box is bad?on the box only the blue round light on no digital display I’m having bad luck with these vu boxes my zgemma was straightforward, very interesting video I think I can do that but we will try pc next as I think it’s bricked
-
sound's bricked to me too mate
If you going to change the chip make sure you buy a preflashed version I did a mates a while ago it's not as easy as it looks the pins are bloody tiny. I said at the time I won't do another it would be very easy to scrap the motherboard if you pull one up the pads.
-
As jenseneverest says try a good pen formatted to fat32.
There is also an rs232 port which could be of use but i have no knowledge of these boxes, the clone unit appears to have a jtag point close to the card reader too but i realise that doesn't help the op.
It also looks like a 48 tsop chip in the video, lifted and flashed a few of those in the past so maybe my clanzer and willem proggys may come in useful to help someone after all:-) although i never lifted the chip like the video suggests...i used feeler gauges and gently inserted it underneath the chip while using heat on one side of the chip at a time...lots of flux too !
-
I haven’t got a pc im getting off a friend tomorrow so I will try that first the rs232 port if it don’t work I will change chip I got bad near vision lol and pins look really small I don’t think you solder pins separately?in video it looks as if he just smears solder all over pin not individually, thanks to everyone you guys have been of great help
-
Before you get out your solder station, make sure you rule out your power supply/brick.
If you have a spare supply, or one from another receiver, give it a go, make sure voltages are same as original (12v dc).
-
If its original not a clone and you use the "scandisc usb stick" formated as describe for you in windows then all original Vu+ will flash from front usb port.
